The Urssaf advises you to take precautionary measures against scams.
Large-scaled scams regarding contribution payments are currently being observed in France. These kind of remote fraud attempts are increasing in multiple areas. Malicious people are sending fraudulent formal notices in the name of the Urssaf, also called the French Organization for the Collection of Social Security and Family Benefit Contributions.
Here are a few good reflexes to have if you receive this kind of email or messages:
- Check the content of the message. Look for spelling mistakes and look at how the message is written
- Check the information given related to you (account number, etc.)
- Check your bank account and the amounts indicated from your online dashboard
- If you have any doubt, contact your Urssaf
To avoid any risks, use your online account to pay your contributions.
- Employer: My account > Payment method > Telepayment
If you’d prefer to pay via bank transfer, use our new secured service
- Self-employed workers / tradesmen-craftsmen: My contributions > Payment > Telepayment > Manage my bank details
- Self-employed liberal professions/medical auxiliaries: Payment > Payment method > Manage bank details/SEPA orders > Sign up for quarterly telepayment regarding your instalments and occasional payments
- Self-employed workers: autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr > My account > Payment methods
Moreover, do not share any personal details (bank details, credit card numbers, etc.) via email on the phone. The Urssaf will never ask you for those bank details or your password by phone or email. It will always invite you to use the secured messaging system in your online space.
